Job Description
MUSC Health is seeking a PRN Pathologist to cover shifts at Tidelands Orangeburg Columbia Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina.
About our opportunity:
- 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Clinical diagnostic service work in general pathology primarily bread and butter specimens in a community practice setting serving two hospitals in coastal South Carolina
- AP/CP Board certified/board eligible
- Occasional frozen sections and cytology adequacy checks
- No grossing (occasional oversight of grossing tech)
- Rareafter-hours call (divided amongst a minimum of 3 pathologists
- Willingnessto engage clinicians and surgeons as well as to provide guidance to AP staff members
- Examines and interprets prepared tissue sections and body fluids and secretions by using a variety of microscope techniques including light microscopy electron microscopy and fluorescence microscopy.
- Diagnosis from body tissue fluids secretions or other specimens the presence and stage of disease or other abnormalities utilizing laboratory techniques and dictates findings.
- Identifies the etiology pathogenesis morphological change and clinical significance of diseases.
