About the opportunity:
The Lead Behavioral Health Technician (BH Tech IV) plays a key leadership role on Vail Health Behavioral Health (VHBH)s multidisciplinary behavioral health team. This position supports the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintains a safe therapeutic clinical environment while also providing daily supervision training and mentorship to Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs). The Lead BHT helps ensure daily operations programming and documentation meet internal local state federal and regulatory standards of care and compliance.
What you will do:
- Leads the Behavioral Health Technician team to ensure consistent adherence to clinical workflows therapeutic environment protocols and documentation standards. Provides ongoing coaching onboarding support and mentorship to team members.
- Assists with patient care including obtaining and recording vital signs maintaining patient documentation and completing administrative duties.
- Establishes and maintains eective working relationships with healthcare providers patients and sta.
- Fields patient phone calls promptly and professionally. Engages in patient communication education and support as directed by the healthcare provider or provider team.
- Participates in maintaining the therapeutic setting of the clinical space.
- Ensures cleanliness adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in patient care areas. Replaces supplies depleted on a daily basis. Cleans and prepares patient care areas equipment and tools. Completes shift opening and closing procedures.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures OSHA Rules and Regulations environmental and infection control standards.
- Ensures compliance with local internal state federal and regulatory standards and compliance including quality assurance safety infection control and environmental procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need:
Experience:
- Two years of relevant experience of direct patient care or community behavioral health experience required
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred
License(s) and Certification(s):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Completed LivingWorks START preferred
- Completed Therapeutic Options preferred
- Completion of QPR Training preferred
- Completion of LivingWorks ASIST training preferred
- Completion of Adult and/or Youth Mental Health First Aid training preferred

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$27.80$38.68 USD
