Job Description:

The Early Childhood Teacher I supports an assigned classroom working with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years. This role provides hands-on care and assistance to ensure each childs safety health and well-being while promoting growth across cognitive physical social and emotional domains. The Teacher I helps implement developmentally appropriate play-based lessons observes and supports childrens progress and partners with families to encourage learning. Collaboration with lead teachers other educators and administrators is essential to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist lead teachers with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate play-based lessons.
Support childrens safety health and well-being throughout the day.
Help maintain organized engaging and safe learning environments.
Observe childrens development and assist with documentation and assessments.
Partner with families through regular communication to support learning and growth
Collaborate with educators and administrators to foster a nurturing inclusive classroom.
Assist with health hygiene and safety routines.
Support classroom management by modeling positive behaviors and encouraging self-confidence.
Help maintain classroom materials learning centers and shared spaces.
Assist in compliance with Ohio licensing rules and documentation requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age and possess a H.S. diploma or GED equivalent.
60 semester hours of Early Childhood Education at the college level or experience working with young children in a child care setting required.
Must have or obtain the following trainings within 3 months of employment: Infant & Child First Aid & CPR Common Childhood Communicable Disease Recognition and Prevention of Child Abuse.
Shall not have any convictions of child abuse or crimes involving moral turpitude.
Must have a fingerprint check by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).
Strength in creating inclusive partnerships with children families and colleagues.
Ability to supervise and interact with children outdoors for extended periods of varied weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in early childhood education or a closely related field or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential preferred.
