Created in 1993 LAHSA is a joint powers authority of the city and county of Los Angeles. As the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care we coordinate and manage over $800 million annually in federal state county and city funds for programs providing shelter housing and services to people experiencing homelessness.
The LAHSA team for this project will work with YHSIs regional partners (CEO-HI LAE DCFS DMH Long Beach CoC and Cross Systems Learning Table) to conduct comprehensive assessments of current systems identify gaps and opportunities for improvement and develop actionable plans to enhance service delivery for youth experiencing homelessness. The newly hired staff will engage deeply with local communities fostering partnerships with youth-serving organizations decision makers service providers and other relevant stakeholders. The dedicated efforts of this newly expanded team will be crucial in driving systemic change ultimately leading to a more effective and compassionate response to the needs of vulnerable young people in the region.
