Inventory operatives are responsible for processing our drivers paperwork and any returned products making sure product is properly coded and staged for put away entering data into the warehouse management system in a fast and efficient manner. This position requires flexible starting times working any 5/7 job requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations (dry cooler and freezer).

Key Accountabilities:

Ensure the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory via cycle counting and other duties assigned.

Cycle counts the warehouse a minimum of four times a year including all pick and reserve slots for discrepancies and product/packaging integrity issues.

Performs quality checks around date sensitive slow-moving and obsolete items via interaction with Merchandising. Performs recoup function.

Research causes of weight variances receiving/put away/letdown issues and damaged product in the slots from warehouse moves.

Proactively checks First-in First-out (FIFO) items for proper rotation.

Confirm reserves are properly recorded and verify the count of each reserve pallet.

Verify the put-away and transfer process performed by the day and night personnel.

Initiate and document product transfer from the cooler to the freezer.

Review standard management reports and research causes of inventory shrink.

Requirements:

PC Skills: Excel Email and Word familiar with WMS systems

Strong numerical and analytical skills required

Attention to detail and accuracy

Must be able to identify product and determine quality according to HACCP guidelines

Strong personality and effective communication skills to explain and enforce proper policies and procedures

Strong organizational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

The ability to co-operate and get along with co-workers

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both in person and on telephone

The ability to analyse and resolve problems effectively and efficiently

Previous inventory experience in a fast-pace warehouse environment

Experience operating an electric pallet truck or forklift

Flexibility with regards to hours of work / shift work

Strong mathematical skills needed to count product multiply add subtract and understand percentages
