BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC REQUIRED Unit Information: Emergency Department Location: Emergency Department Address: 100 McGregor St Floor: A Building: 2004 Building General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds - 4 in Annex (a secure locked psychiatric area holding for placement) 25 procedure rooms (rooms with curtains or doors) 8 hallway beds (utilized 24/7) Number of Staff 88 (combined job titles) Type of staff: o 7a-3a 1 Charge RN 7RN 3ED Techs 2RP Annex: 1 RN and 1 ED Tech o 3a-7a -- 1 Charge RN 6 RN 2 ED Tech 1RP Annex: 1 RN and 1 ED Tech Patient Ratios 4:1 (flexibility in times of acute surge) Type of equipment - U/S IV skills Lucas Device Hotline Rapid Infuser Alaris pumps Pyxis EMR Sunrise/ Allscripts Patient Population - Multiple comorbidities NEHI (New England Heart Institute) patients- complicated heart conditions DKA Sepsis Trauma Stroke Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. At least 2 years ED experience for contract labor BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC for contract labor Adaptability Strong communication skills with patients and peers Strong assessment skills Dependability and punctuality Strong critical thinking skills Strong understanding of medical terminology (department coordinators) Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. At least one year ED experience for HCA hired staff BLS/ACLS/PALS/MOAB/TNCC for HCA hired staff Strong understanding of EKG interpretation List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Trauma Stroke Care Laceration repair Orthopedic trauma U/S IV insertion IO insertion Eye exam EKG Psychiatric care Cardiopulmonary care Best personality Fit: Motivated hard worker creative problem solver general desire to help and care for patients REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC preferred (must for contract labor) Floating Area(s): none Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - no hooded shirts or sweatshirts (safety) Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.
