JOB SUMMARY
The Parent Advocacy & Organizing Assistant will support family and community engagement and advocacy efforts across three school communities: Aspire Junior Collegiate Academy Aspire Titan Academy and Aspire Centennial College Preparatory Academy. The ideal candidate will have experience in community organizing strong interpersonal skills a strong commitment to school choice and a passion for empowering families through advocacy and storytelling. This role will require close collaboration with the Advocacy Manager site-based parent coordinator leads school leaders families and other critical stakeholders who will support charter renewal efforts in 2025.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ongoing Activities:
Organize and mobilize parents to engage in advocacy and school renewal efforts
Support the planning and facilitation of parent meetings focused on charter renewal and school improvement
Assist with preparing advocacy materials and action plans
Provide individualized support to parents to help them draft and refine public testimonials
Attend renewal-related meetings and help coordinate parent participation
Track and encourage parent attendance and engagement in key advocacy events
Provide logistical and coaching strategies on the day of the renewal hearing. Duties will shift based on school needs.

Demonstrate knowledge of and support the Aspire Public Schools mission vision value statements including antiracism policies and procedures operating instructions confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
Spanish bilingual- verbal and written skills
The desire to learn and an openness to challenge
A sense of urgency and passion for social justice and equity in education
A commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Strong public speaking writing and analytical skills
Willingness to learn and implement new technology
Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed to support charter renewal efforts
Experience in community organizing parent engagement or advocacy work preferred
Excellent organizational and communication skills

Work authorization requirements:
Clear the Department of Justice background screening
Authorized to work in the United States
Provide health (TB) clearance (renewed every four years)

Aspire Public Schools has implemented a Remote Work policy. This position may also require periodic travel to school sites in order to interact with school leaders.
