Demonstrated interest in youth and education*Experience working with high school students in a shop environmentEvidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involvedSuch additional qualifications as the Westfield Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable*FAA Certification for AirframeREPORTS TO:Aviation Teacher/Department Head PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the teacher with instruction directly and/or indirectlyAssist the teacher with the selection and utilization of educational materials and general suppliesAssist the teacher in administering achievement and/or diagnostic testing including the collection of student academic behavioral and adaptive skills dataAssist the teacher with general classroom maintenanceAssist the teacher in supervision of students involved in school activitiesAssume responsibility of the classroom teacher in his/her absenceParticipate in staff development programs required by the Building PrincipalADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Work is generally conducted within school building. Ability to travel throughout the school building is necessary. Position involves sitting and the ability to travel from one place to another within building. Work is moderate in nature with regular lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above generally of desk and file drawers.
