Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager - PMO

Location: Augusta ME (General Office)

Work type: Office

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience ranging from $138657 to $173322.

Job Summary

Sr. Manager PMO is responsible for recruiting developing and leading a multi-disciplined team to ensure Networks jurisdictional business teams efficiently and effectively execute the Avangrid Networks annual capital portfolio. This is achieved through strong collaboration and alignment with project execution teams as well as corporate departments involved in the Capital Expenditures portfolio development management and reporting (e.g. Procurement Legal Insurance Risk Process & Technology Investment Planning Finance Regulatory) and by providing direction to the Project Management Office. The Project Management Office consists of three focused support teams: Delivery Assurance PMO Operations and Document Control.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Assurance: Oversee capital portfolio and support the execution of the long-term capital investment strategy. Orchestrate end-to-end oversight from project inception to closure to ensure compliance with Avangrid ISO 90001 certified project management practices. Assess the project portfolio to ensure adherence to CAPEX and RBA targets. Identify and facilitate necessary offsets to maintain alignment with financial goals. Identify potential risks to critical milestones (e.g. EVM) and facilitate necessary adjustments to maintain financial and operational alignment. Collaborate with corporate departments involved in the capital portfolio development management and reporting (e.g. Investment Planning Regulatory System Planning Accounting Control); provide analysis and reporting improving project management competencies across business units departments and operating companies through the development and distribution of communications and training and attending executive management meetings to provide and present reports.

  • PMO Operations: Ensure Networks business teams efficiently proceed through corporate processes related to the procurement of materials and services through a customer-focused support team that provides centralized procurement coordination material expediting framework management delegated purchases controlling & PM order creation purchase requisitions accruals billing TECO unitization project support and SAP access issue resolution.

  • Document Control: Ensure business teams comply with processes and procedures that govern the enterprise document control system of record (e.g. ProjectWise); ensure compliance with NERC CIP and all Avangrid security standards and requirements including access control for authorized internal and external users.

  • Training: Develop and implement best-in-class training and communication to ensure a high level of understanding and competency of protocols and processes throughout the entire organization.

  • Alignment: Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to inform and influence others providing strategic input for business plans and decision making. Collaborate and align with corporate departments involved in the Capital Expenditures portfolio development management and reporting (e.g. Procurement Legal Insurance Risk Process & Technology Investment Management Finance Regulatory) and the Networks Business Teams subject matter experts (SMEs) and by providing strategy and direction for the jurisdictional Project Management Office.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 or more years experience in project/portfolio management support.

  • Strong knowledge of PMBOK as well as industry standards including regulatory accounting FERC NERC CIP any other applicable regulation.

  • Expert knowledge in portfolio management policies and procedures and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Track record of working with senior management and strong collaboration with other departments and project managers to provide practical efficient solutions to improve project and portfolio management.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage and influence in highly matrixed environment.

  • Strong communication skills to deliver concise informative communications at all levels.

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written skills including the ability to oversee and/or prepare sufficient documentation for a variety of stakeholders and executive level presentations and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability using data and analytics to diagnose trends and link to business performance outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree.

  • PMP Certification.
