POSITION GOAL:
To providespecial education instruction and support for students in a substantially separate therapeutic classroomaccording to the Arlington Public Schoolcurriculum and Massachusetts standards. This is a long term substitute position from approximately September 17 2025 through December 12 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for planning instruction and curriculum modifications for included special needs students that allow students to meet high standards and success in typical settings.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct instruction to students both within the regular education classroom and outside the regular education classroom. This includes planning and teaching along with the regular classroom teacher in an inclusive regular education setting.
2. Plan and modify regular curriculum.
3. Consult with regular education staff.
4. Monitor student progress in regular education program.
5. Develop IEP determine goals and objectives.
6. Prepare progress reports.
7. Organize and chair team meetings and other meetings.
8. Administer testing for evaluations and end of term/end of year reporting.
9. Maintain contact with parents.
10. Attend building learning team meetings.
11. Direct the work of teaching assistants.
12. Perform other tasks as assigned by Building Principal and/or Special Education Administrator.
