J.H. Larson Company is an independent distributor of Electrical Plumbing HVAC and Datacom products with 9 locations in Minnesota Wisconsin and South Dakota and 4 showroom locations. We have a great opportunity to join our Sales Team at our Sioux Falls SD branch. The Counter Sales Representative increases sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs. They work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the distribution team to grow existing customers create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Include:
- Process customer orders and inquiries in person by phone and email
- Assist with order pickups returns and inventory management
- Clean organize and maintain the counter product displays and order pickup area
- Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and complete tasks
- Promote recommended products and support inside sales as needed
Qualifications
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Experience and/or Training
- 1 year working in a warehouse environment as a team member working with power equipment and pulling orders. A solid understanding of warehouse operations including receiving storage picking packing and shipping processes
- 1 year of related sales experience
- Comfortable with various computer software programs
- Math skills. Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organization
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Organized strong time management skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team
- A team player work together with others to accomplish common goals of company
- Strong problem solving analytical and decision-making skills
- Detail oriented organized consistent and tenacious
- 2 years in a related customer service role preferred
- Wholesale distribution and/or retail experience preferred
- Knowledge of electrical plumbing and HVAC components preferred
