BOARD SERVICES TRAINEE / SPECIALIST
SALARY INFORMATION
Board Services Trainee $23.49 - $31.13 Hourly
Board Services Specialist $25.79 - $34.59 Hourly
Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above based on position requirements and the successful candidates qualifications subject to appropriate authorization.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This recruitment will establish an openeligible list that will be used to fill current and future Board Services Trainee / Specialist positions. This list may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.
DEADLINE TO APPLY

THE OPPORTUNITY
Vacancies may be filled at either the Trainee or Specialist level depending on the incumbents qualifications.
The Board Services Trainee is the entry-level into the series wherein incumbents work under close supervision while learning the practices and procedures used in the Clerk of the Board office. Within six months of appointment incumbents must demonstrate proficiency to promote to Board Services Specialist. There is no permanent status in this entry-level class. Those incumbents who are not promoted prior to the end of the six-month period will not pass probation.
The Board Services Specialist is the journey level in which incumbents are required to have a working knowledge of the primary procedures and protocol in at least one division of the Clerk of the Board Office. Positions in this class perform a variety of complex and responsible work under supervision typically within a framework of established procedures.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate will have two (2) or more years of general office addition the ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge skills and abilities in the following core competencies:

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Human Resource Services (HRS) will screen all application materials to identify qualified candidates. After the screening qualified candidates will be referred to the next step and notified of all further procedures applicable to their status in the process.
Application Screening (Refer/Non-Refer)
Applications and supplemental responses will be screened for qualifications needed to successfully perform the duties of this job. Only those applicants that meet the qualifications listed in the job bulletin will be referred to the next step.
Online Assessment (Weighted 100%)
Candidates who meet desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in one or more job-related assessments. Candidates will be notified of their test date and access code if applicable.
Based on the Departments needs the selection procedure listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedure.
Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies. Only the most successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list.
