A substitute teachers primary role is to maintain classroom continuity in the absence of the regular teacher by implementing provided lesson plans managing student behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment. They need to be adaptable possess strong classroom management skills and be able to effectively communicate with students staff and sometimes parents.
Essential Functions:
- Instructional Delivery: Following lesson plans delivering instruction and adapting teaching methods to meet student needs.
- Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment managing student behavior and enforcing school policies.
- Student Support: Providing guidance to students on assignments homework and projects.
- Administrative Tasks: Taking attendance completing necessary paperwork
- School Policies: Adhering to all school policies and procedures.
- Flexibility: Being able to adapt to different classrooms subjects and grade levels.
Position Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Degree preferred
- Certification: Not required
- Experience: Some experience in a classroom setting such as student teaching is often preferred.
- Skills: Strong classroom management communication and adaptability are crucial.
- Attributes: Patience enthusiasm for learning and professionalism are desirable.
Pay Range: $15/Hour
