Distribution Export Planner Onsite- Jackson TN

The Job:
The Export Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the outbound export shipping schedule expediting urgent export orders and managing communications with customer service teams located outside the distribution center. This dynamic hands-on role operates in a fast-paced environment and reports directly to the Transportation Planning Manager.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the export planning team facilitating communication between transportation customer service and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and finalize the daily export shipping schedule for outbound truckloads ensuring alignment with customer requirements and operational capabilities.
- Monitor carrier performance for on-time export pickups and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Distribution Center (DC) Operations to ensure timely order processing in accordance with the export shipping schedule.
- Coordinate with Customer Service Operations and transportation partners to prioritize and expedite urgent export orders as needed.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance export planning efficiency and effectiveness.
- Attain subject matter expertise in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and Distribution Management System (DM Plus) to optimize export planning processes.
The Person:
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics Business Engineering or 3-4 years of progressive export planning related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in planning and scheduling (distribution experience is preferred but manufacturing experience is acceptable).
- Six Sigma experience a plus.
- APICS certification a plus.
- Must have strong analytical skills.
- Must have strong software skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
