Job Description
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20000 students in the Greater Victoria Area encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3500 staff; which includes teachers principals and vice-principals support staff psychologists speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
The Greater Victoria School District is looking to hire a Cafeteria Assistant and School Meal Assistant to assist the Culinary Arts / Cook Training Teacher with the operation of the school cafeteria.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant must possess:
- Grade 12
- Professional Cook Level 1
- Food Safe I & II
- Serving it Right Certifications
- Valid BC drivers license
- One year specific experience in the food and beverage industry
This is a temporary position from September 2 2025 to June 26 2026 or return of the incumbent. This position works 30 hours per week as a Cafeteria Assistant at a pay rate of $28.86 plus 13% in lieu of benefits and 5 hours per week as a School Meal Assistant at a pay rate of $26.38 plus 13% in lieu of benefits.
