Come join the CFM56 team! The CFM56 platform has 6 engine models. It powers thousands of aircraft globally including Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families. The CFM56 engine family is operated by hundreds of airlines and other operators worldwide making it one of the most successful commercial jet engines in aviation history. The CFM56 ID&B Design team has ownership across the -2/-3/-5/-7 engine lines covering all Turbomachinery Modules owned by GE.

We are looking for an engineer passionate on the Mechanical Design discipline.

Job Description

  • Roles and Responsibilities

    • Execute the design analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures product and program requirements.

    • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.

    • Work collaboratively with engineers from adjacent hardware repair fleet materials stress analysis heat transfer and engine system integration.

    • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated technical problems. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

    • Complete documentation of technical data for the assigned projects.

    • Present work results during technical or program reviews

    • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace or closely related field of Engineering

    • Knowledge of English language at communicative level

    • Knowledgeof mechanicaldesign & analysis materials and manufacturing processes

    Desired Characteristics

    • MSc in Mechanical Design Finite Element Analysis or Thermal Analysis.

    • Turbomachinery Design experience in Rotating Parts.

    • Ability to adapt be flexible and responsive with deliverables.

    • Humble: respectful receptive agile eager to learn.

    • Transparent: shares critical information speaks with candor contributes constructively

    • Focused: quick learner strategically prioritizes work committed.
