Position Overview:

The Product Technologist (Footwear and Accessories) is responsible for delivering Prototypes Samples and bulk production within the requested timeline according to spec fit and quality. The position does work seamlessly with Development Material management Compliance/Quality and Procurement and is the main gatekeeper to make sure products are delivered on time and in full.

What Youll Do:

• Responsible for the establishment of specs sizing and measurement charts across all allocated styles within PLM. Measure and assess products vs specs and BOM requirements to determine their accuracy.
• Fitting garments across various stages of their life cycle often with product development and design present to ensure optimal commercial sizing.
• Communicating comments feedback and necessary testing to the allocated vendors.
• Tracking production and industrialization progress against business targets and KPIs.
• Risk assessment and reporting to be managed across all allocated products.
• Responsible for actioning and managing any testing with the laboratories if required. Review and resolve any test failures
• Work cross-functionally with design product development materials merchandising sourcing sustainability and external manufacturers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage block libraries fit language and definition of constructional quality standards within the allocated category.
• Knowledge of wash care aftercare proclaimer application labelling and safety is essential.
• Ensure timely creation accuracy and delivery of cost and margin calculations and Manuals as dictated on Product Calendar
• Any additional duties as may be assigned by the Director of Sourcing

Lets Talk About You:

• Bachelor degree or similar in Footwear and/ or Textiles 5 years experience working as a Product Technologist in Footwear/Accessories for at least 2 luxury brands.
• Extensive experience in development and manufacturing as well as working with external factories and vendors.
• Experience within patterns grading and fits.
• Experience in traveling and working with multiple stakeholders across the globe
• Understanding of product testing test methods approval processes (labelling wash care etc).
• Deep Knowledge of footwear and accessories construction & manufacturing methods.
• In depth understanding in technical Materials synthetics leather woven and knit.
• Knowledge of product safety and risk assessment across footwear and accessories. PLM experience MS Office skills.
• Ability to influence & manage situations.
• Self-starting and able to prioritise and focus workload.
• Teams colleagues suppliers and vendors are located in various different time zones which does require flexibility in working hours.
