Job Description
Health Information Technician
Location:Health Information Management110 Chambers Hill Drive
Schedule: Monday-Friday Full-Time 40 hours/week No weekends or holidays
General Summary
Keystone Health is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Health Information Technician to join our Health Information Management (HIM) this role you will support the integrity accuracy and security of patient medical records while ensuring excellent customer service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately scan and index patient health information into the electronic medical record (EHR).
- Process Release of Information requests in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Answer incoming calls to the HIM department and assist patients with medical record inquiries.
- Greet and guide patients in completing Authorization to Release Health Information forms.
- Enter charges and process payments related to medical records.
- Manage and process subpoenas and court orders at the discretion of the Health Information Manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling all medical records and correspondence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or health information management setting.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) Release of Information scanning and indexing personal health information (PHI).
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication customer service and organizational skills.
