Job Description

Location:Lincoln St. K-2 Elementary SchoolGeneral Description:The Franklin Public Schools a Prek-12 district is seeking an enthusiastic dedicatedindividual to work as an educational assistant in the GOALS Program at the LincolnSt K-2 Elementary School. The GOALS Program provides a constellation of servicesfor students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The program is designed to help childrenwith Autism reach their full potential by providing direct instruction and embeddedsupport in the areas of social skills academic skills behavior language self-regulationand communication across all environments. The students also receive highlyspecialized instruction within inclusion classrooms as appropriate. This work of theassistant is performed under the direction of administration lead teachers and BCBA.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Aiding in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming forassigned students in collaboration with other members of the team
  • Recording and summarizing data
  • Work collaboratively with GOALS team members
  • Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet students needsand skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
  • Actively participate in on-going training
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher or ParaPro Certification preferred
  • Experience with children with Autism required
  • Must be the kind of person who is warm caring respectful and have a strongdesire to work with young children
  • Familiarity/training with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis required
  • Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
