About the position
The Senior Engineer role is focused on translating client and project requirements into scalable reliable ease of use microservices cloud-based applications. The role requires a deep understanding of modern architectures and agile delivery methodologies.

What will you be doing
- Collaborate directly with clients as a key member of their scrum teams to translate requirements into scalable reliable cloud-based applications.
- Lead development efforts with a focus on Java (approx. 50%) React (approx. 35%) and (approx. 15%).
- Design write test document and deploy robust code using Java Spring Boot and React/.
- Build reusable code libraries and backend APIs optimizing for speed and scalability.
- Design and implement data storage solutions using MySQL and Redis.
- Leverage your expertise in Docker AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) for containerization and cloud infrastructure management.
- Support and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. CircleCI).
- Participate actively in design and architecture discussions and agile sprint team ceremonies understanding microservices principles.
- Contribute to the product vision and explore/propose new technologies.
- As the foundational member of our Mexico team coach mentor and provide local support to future Metafora engineers.

What we need:
- 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in:
- 5 years of hands on experience with Java (17) SpringBoot and .
- 3 years of hands on experience with React and .
- 2 years of hands on experience with .
- Proven experience with Docker Kubernetes (specifically EKS) and AWS cloud services are essential.
- Experience with MySQL Redis Kafka and CircleCI are preferred.
- Solid understanding of building and consuming REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Proficient understanding of build and source control tools (e.g. Git).
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving debugging and communication skills.
- Passion for mentoring and team leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of proficiency in English.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
