Job Description

About AAFS:

The Autism Aspergers Friendship Society of Calgary (AAFS) is a vibrant community organization that provides social and recreational programs for individuals with autism or who identify as being on the spectrum. We are located on Treaty 7 territory (Mohkinstsis/Calgary) and create spaces where everyone belongs.

Position Overview:
Were looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our team as Social Experience Guides. This role is perfect for someone who values building meaningful connections and supporting neurodivergent community members in their social journey.


What Youll be Doing:
  • Facilitate social and recreational activities in our various programs (AAFSter School LAAFS Adult and Summer programs etc.).
  • Create safe spaces for social exploration and relationship building.
  • Contribute to program planning and development.
  • Support participants in developing social thinking and life skills.
  • Ultimately we want you to experience the fun along with our members.

Location:
Calgary Alberta from our South Clubhouse: 8228 MacLeod Trail SE Unit 220

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers licence with a clean record
  • Preference is given to those with 3 years of uninterrupted vehicle insurance and no at-fault accidents.
  • Currently enrolled in a human service course or degree stream; this role is ideal for your work experience!
  • Clean Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Intervention Record Check.

All offers are contingent on providing a clean Police Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and a clear Intervention Record Check (2 documents).
