Remuneration: $83280 - $113025 pa Level A (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team advancing innovation in addiction and mental health treatment. As a Research Fellow you will contribute to a clinical trial investigating psychedelic assisted psychotherapy for opioid use disorder. The role focuses on developing implementing and analysing neurocognitive outcome measures working across both the Addiction & Impulsivity Research Lab and the Computational & Systems Neuroscience Lab. You will be part of a collaborative environment that integrates expertise in psychology neuroscience and computational modelling to deepen understanding of the mechanisms that drive new therapeutic approaches.

The position plays a central role in delivering high quality research outcomes through the design and conduct of experiments analysis of neuropsychological and cognitive data and application of computational models. It also contributes to scientific publications and supports collaboration within a network of researchers committed to advancing treatment for addictive disorders. The role provides access to advanced neuroimaging facilities and offers the opportunity to strengthen the Schools research profile within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

We are seeking someone with a doctoral qualification in Psychology Neuroscience or a closely related discipline or progress towards this with strong academic foundations. It involves expertise in analysing neurocognitive and neuropsychological measures developing or applying computational models of cognition and contributing to the preparation of manuscripts for publication. Familiarity with fMRI research methods or experience working with people with addictive disorders or mental health conditions will also be highly regarded.
