Job Description
Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Contract)
Location: North Bergen NJ 07047
Pay Rate: $50 $55/hour
Schedule:
40 hours per week
8-hour shifts (8:00 AM 4:30 PM)
MondayFriday with weekends as needed
13-week assignment
Overtime and on-call as required
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations that support accurate diagnosis and treatment. The technologist will prepare patients operate ultrasound equipment ensure quality imaging and maintain patient safety and comfort while collaborating with physicians and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams per departmental protocols and physician orders.
Conduct portable ultrasound studies as needed.
Assist physicians with specialized procedures such as biopsies abdominal studies and Doppler imaging.
Prepare and position patients explaining procedures to ensure understanding and comfort.
Evaluate image quality process data and maintain accurate patient documentation.
Operate calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment; perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
Maintain exam room readiness supplies and sterilized instruments.
Provide guidance to students residents and new staff when applicable.
Adhere to infection control patient safety and emergency protocols.
Communicate compassionately with patients and families in alignment with AIDET standards.
Participate in rotating schedules including weekends holidays overtime and on-call shifts.
Qualifications
Required:
CPR certification
Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program
Minimum of 2 years training in Allied Health/College
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation and imaging systems
Knowledge of anatomy physiology and sonographic techniques
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
Commitment to maintaining CEU credits
Preferred:
At least 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience
