Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Swiss-style lathes to manufacture high-precision components.
- Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and technical documentation.
- Manually edit and write G and M code programs when needed.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to meet exacting specifications.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment.
QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or military training preferred.
- 7 years of machining experience with 35 years specifically in Swiss turning.
- Proven experience working with tight tolerances (sub 0.0005 in / 0.0127 mm).
- Proficient in manual G/M code programming.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and part inspection methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Experience with CAM software (e.g. Mastercam Esprit NX).
- Familiarity with Star Swiss-style machines CMMs and tool grinding.
- Background in new product introduction (NPI) environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 35 lbs.
- Prolonged standing while operating machines.
