Were expanding our Access Egress Hardware Team seeking to hire a Test Automation Engineer who will work with a global team of cross-functional product development engineers designing and developing test automation software/fixtures for electronic locking products and associated mobile Windows and Web based applications. You will need to be creative and innovative while reviewing and understanding product and system architectures and conducting system integration activities including integration of electrical firmware software and mechanical design components. As a Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating and executing technical tasks will give you the opportunity to see a project through from start to finish.

This position will sit onsite full-time on-site in New Haven CT at ASSA ABLOY Americas corporate headquarters reporting to the Team Lead Automation Innovation.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and maintain automated test tools for firmware software mobile and web platforms
  • Collaborate with QA firmware and end-to-end test teams to implement and execute automation strategies
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Design and execute manual test protocols when needed; convert manual tests to automated scripts
  • Participate in technical reviews and ensure compliance with product requirements
  • Create and manage test plans acceptance criteria and procedures for new and legacy products
  • Analyze test data and implement corrective actions
  • Support product certifications (FCC UL CE etc.) and develop related documentation
  • Design and build custom test fixtures and apparatus
  • Track project timelines and communicate progress through reports and presentations

What we are looking for

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
  • 25 years of experience in test engineering
  • Proficiency in Python; JavaScript and C are a plus
  • Experience with automation tools and robotic arms (UR Dobot Magician MaxArm)
  • Familiarity with Appium Server (iOS/Xcode Android Virtual Devices)
  • CAD software experience (SolidWorks Fusion360) and 3D printing for fixture design
  • Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and sensors (Arduino ESP32)
  • Strong understanding of schematics engineering data and general test equipment (oscilloscopes DVMs logic/protocol analyzers)
  • Demonstrated project leadership and cross-functional collaboration
  • Creative problem-solver with high initiative and achievement orientation
  • Systems engineering and electronics manufacturing knowledge
  • Experience with RFID WiFi Z-Wave and Zigbee technologies preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically
