Work Schedule:
Monday Friday (9 AM 5 PM EST)

Work Structure: Hybrid Model (2 days per week onsite). The current hybrid model may be subject to change considering business needs and responsibilities.

Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. Weoperate a Youth Drop-In Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and a Transitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

About the Role


Asa
Research and Evaluation Coordinator
you will be responsible for:

  • Research Management: Conduct and stay current on research related to 2SLGBTQIA youth implementation science and program effectiveness. Develop and apply evaluation tools to assess service impact.
  • Program Development Support: Translate research and evaluation findings into actionable recommendations to enhance programs and services.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Design and implement ethical trauma-informed data collection methods. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports and visualizations to share insights with stakeholders. Support grant writing and donor reporting with evaluation results.
  • Ethical Oversight: Ensure all activities align with ethical standards anti-racism and community development principles maintaining confidentiality and informed consent.


What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelors degree (required) or Masters degree (preferred) in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology Social Work Public Health Research & Policy Studies).
  • Experience: 1 years conducting qualitative and quantitative research
    for impact measurement and program evaluation including youth engagement.
  • DEI & ARAO Commitment: Demonstrated ability to communicate inclusively and navigate diverse environments with a strong understanding of equity accessibility and cultural contexts.
  • Research & Evaluation:
    Familiarity in designing and implementing evaluations in social service contexts using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. surveys interviews focus groups).
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication including report writing and data visualization. Collaborative mindset with adaptability and openness to feedback.

  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
