Specialist Female Case Worker
Maternity cover - 01/02/26 with the possibility of extension
The Role:
Provide comprehensive holistic needs assessment support planning advocacy case management resettlement progress monitoring and review for females who have experienced multiple child removal along with a range of complex social and housing needs. Working in a psychologically and trauma informed way.
Responsibilities include:
Providing intensive trauma informed support to females alongside partner agencies to increase independence and address barriers which may have contributed to child removal.
Work in a psychologically and trauma informed way advocating on behalf of females to ensure they achieve their potential.
Work closely with social services to establish child contact arrangements taking part in case conferences and completing reports for court.
- Conducting key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date.
- Developing individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to females and their children and to ensure that such plans are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Promoting and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of self and others in line with our Safeguarding Adult and Children Policies Health & Safety Policy together with any other requirements aimed at keeping people safe from harm
- Recognising respecting and addressing the needs of clients who face barriers when seeking help to access the service including those from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds LGBT communities disabled people
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
- Able to be comfortable lone working and have strong communication skills.
- Understanding of child removal and trauma.
- An individual who embraces challenges enthusiastically.
- An understand of the principles of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma Informed Practice
- Working in a social care or similar role for 3 years
- Experience of writing reports
