Job Description

Manufacturing Engineering Lead Gloucester Gloucestershire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Lead to join a forward-thinking technical team based in Gloucester Gloucestershire. Acting as both a technical and administrative leader this role will oversee the Manufacturing Engineering Team ensuring production methods are efficient reliable and continuously improving.

Located in Gloucester Gloucestershire the successful candidate will become fully conversant in the manufacturing of composite and polymer materials driving innovation while supporting day-to-day operations. The Manufacturing Engineering Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping processes for new product introduction influencing design for manufacture and aligning production methods with customer and regulatory requirements.

The position requires a strong technical authority who can collaborate across engineering quality operations and materials departments. Based in Gloucester Gloucestershire the role will involve leading process optimisation projects spearheading problem-solving initiatives and introducing new technologies to enhance efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring the Manufacturing Engineering Team ensuring workloads are balanced and targets achieved.

  • Driving product development from concept through to production with a focus on design for manufacture.

  • Conducting market research into state-of-the-art technologies and integrating them into business practices.

  • Managing documentation and administration in line with quality standards.

  • Supporting research and development with prototype and proof-of-concept manufacturing.

The role in Gloucester Gloucestershire is ideally suited to an experienced engineering professional with at least five years in a similar environment strong leadership capabilities and expertise in process optimisation. Candidates should have excellent communication skills be trained to HNC level or above and possess a deep understanding of PFMEA and APQP within a quality-focused setting.
