The Position

Our client is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a position in Lowell MA. They are a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team providing psychiatric evaluations psychopharmacology management and behavioral health consultation for older adult participants. This role involves both clinic-based and in-home/facility care working closely with primary care clinicians nursing staff and other disciplines to deliver high-quality integrated behavioral healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Caseload: Approximately 6 patients per day
• Perform psychiatric evaluations (routine and urgent) and develop individualized behavioral health treatment plans.
• Provide psychopharmacology management with psychotherapeutic support.
• Conduct home visits and nursing facility visits for participants unable to attend clinic.
• Monitor patient response to psychotropic medications and adjust treatment accordingly.
• Document interventions medication plans and treatment rationale in the EHR.
• Provide behavioral health consultation to the Interdisciplinary Team to enhance integrated care.
• Collaborate on care and treatment plans ensuring evidence-based interventions.
• Assist with program development and quality improvement projects.
• Cover for Behavioral Health colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• Masters degree as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• ANCC certification as a Psychiatric/Mental Health NP or CNS.
• Licensed to practice in Massachusetts with prescriptive authority.
• 23 years of experience in Psychiatric practice with prescriptive responsibilities.
• Experience with older adults preferred including psychopharmacology crisis evaluations and caregiver consultation.
• Current DEA registration in Massachusetts.
• Current CPR certification.
• COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption).
• Ability to pass respirator fit testing (no facial hair that interferes with mask seal).
