We are seeking a knowledgeable Rotating Equipment & Reliability Engineer to provide technical expertise and engineering support for critical machinery and systems. This position focuses on ensuring safe efficient and reliable operation of equipment such as turbines compressors pumps and associated support systems through both proactive maintenance strategies and problem-solving of complex failures.
Role OverviewThe ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of:
Drivers and driven equipment including gas/steam turbines large motors generators compressors and pumps.
Supporting systems such as bearings couplings lubrication systems and sealing technologies (mechanical and dry gas seals).
Performance monitoring and diagnostics with an emphasis on compressor efficiency vibration analysis and rotating machinery health management.
This engineer will also contribute to reliability initiatives by supporting operations with analytical techniques structured problem solving and improvements to maintenance practices.
Key Areas of FocusFailure Analysis: Lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations for mechanical and rotating equipment issues applying proven methodologies to identify causes and corrective actions.
Maintenance Optimization: Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to evaluate current strategies identify gaps and recommend improvements for long-term equipment performance and cost-effectiveness.
Serve as the technical authority for rotating equipment within the facility.
Participate in engineering reviews such as Management of Change (MOC) and HAZOP for machinery-related items.
Provide engineering signoff for inspection readiness and rotating equipment assessments.
Witness and support key machinery activities including solo runs nitrogen runs and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Contribute insights and updates to weekly engineering reports.
Education & Licensing
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or another closely related discipline required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on engineering experience with rotating and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
Oil & Gas industry background required; LNG experience strongly preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates with petrochemical cryogenic processing or other hydrocarbon facility experience.
Strong working knowledge of gas turbines (both Frame and Aero-derivative) and compressor systems including performance evaluation and troubleshooting.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Practical knowledge of RCFA tools and techniques.
Familiarity with vibration analysis performance monitoring software and reliability engineering methodologies.
