Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a/an Lead Electrical Test Technician in USA Fontana Ca.
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Assistant Manager the Lead Electrical Test Technician is responsible for leading a team of employees in completing electrical testing of manufactured addition this role will complete complex electrical testing of products during the manufacturing process based on established testing procedures.
What a typical day looks like:
- Oversees the work of assigned team employees.
- Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor.
- Assists with the planning and preparation of training for new team members.
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
- Partners with supervisor or engineering manager to resolve any issues that arise within department.
- Monitors testing status daily; gathers feedback from all test technicians.
- Follow AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams to do testing of main electrical distribution AC/DC systems
- Work closely with engineering and production team members to ensure accurate efficient and timely execution of required testing work
- Be able to troubleshoot assembly wiring and testing problems
- Performs testing on various systems including HVAC system lighting receptacles fans fire alarm systems battery system and meggering of cables.
- Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings recommends modifications needed to correct production problems
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in electrical testing or related field
- Relevant experience leading a team.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics and single line diagrams.
- Knowledge in testing of three phase AC and DC control circuits.
- Good working knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures and NEC Codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.
What the physical requirements are:
- Periods of standing walking and sitting at a desk using a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
- Must be able to traverse production facility to complete testing
- Must wear PPE such as gloves safety glasses hard hat and ear protection while working on the production floor
