About the position: Shady Hill School is seeking a part-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting daily HR operations including recruiting onboarding payroll employee relations and HR compliance. This position reports to the Human Resources Director and requires excellent attention to detail a customer-service mindset a high level of professionalism and discretion and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. This is an in-person 12-month hourly part-time position targeting 20 hours per week. The specific weekly schedule will be determined based on candidate availability and school needs. This position is eligible for full benefits including health/dental/vision insurance employer retirement contributions and paid vacation time.
Primary Responsibilities: - Support Shady Hills recruiting efforts: manage job postings for open positions; support managers drafting and updating job descriptions; respond to applicant inquiries; schedule and coordinate interviews; screen and/or interview candidates
- Coordinate employee onboarding: prepare offer letters; coordinate background checks for new employees; manage I-9 forms; participate in new hire orientations; train new employees and managers on use of ADP WorkforceNow as needed
- Collaborate on biweekly payroll: approve monthly payroll timesheets for tutors; assist managers with attendance and timecard questions; enter benefits salary and position changes in ADP with HR Director
- With HR Director process benefits transactions: enroll employees in benefits; provide separating employees with benefits information; manage COBRA events and enrollments; submit leave of absence applications to leave administrator
- Support HR Director with compliance and legal requirements: pull documentation for annual and 403(b) audits; manage HR section of Shady Hills intranet; file workers compensation incident reports; assist with annual EEOC and OSHA filings; respond to employment verification requests
- Further employee wellness support and collaboration: participate in wellness initiatives with R&R committee; provide guidance to employees and/or managers; serve as front-line employee relations contact when HR Director is unavailable; assist HR Director with workplace investigations
- Assist HR Director to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws and regulations; contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
