Software Test Engineer
The Software Test Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality reliability and performance of mission-critical software systems used in advanced defense applications. You will design and execute test strategies automate processes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-assurance solutions that support the safety and success of defense operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design develop and execute test plans procedures and cases for embedded and application-level software.
- Automate testing processes using modern frameworks and scripting languages.
- Perform functional regression integration and system-level testing across multiple environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers to identify reproduce and resolve defects.
- Validate requirements coverage by reviewing design and requirements documents.
- Ensure testing processes comply with defense standards (e.g. DO-178C MIL-STD).
- Document and report test results to engineering leadership program management and customers.
- Participate in reviews audits and system validation activities including field testing when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvements in testing methodologies processes and toolsets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in software testing preferably in defense aerospace or mission-critical systems.
- Strong background in automated testing and scripting (Python C# or similar).
- Solid understanding of SDLC QA methodologies and embedded systems testing.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA) and version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience testing SATCOM TTNC or satellite systems (LEO MEO GEO).
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing experience.
- Background in Agile/DevOps environments.
- ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
- Prior experience with DoD software compliance requirements.
