| Technician: Computer Laboratory II Duration: 3 Months extendable Location: Hillsboro OR 100% onsite
Laptop will be issued.
Roles and Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of the HPC lab spaces including interacting with external vendors internal support teams and responding to customer support escalations.
Candidate will also analyze assemble update test and maintain computer systems and associated equipment to meet functional objectives of the business. Must be proficient in operating in a Linux command line environment shell scripting assembly of system/server hardware basic system administration and configuration.
Must Have Qualifications: - Must have good computer skills able to learn fast and work well with others in a dynamic environment.
- Minimum AS degree or HS diploma or GED with equivalent experience in Lieu of AS degree.
- Management and installation of SuSE or other enterprise focused Linux distributions in a multi-user environment (if no degree 2 years exp).
- Shell and/or Python scripting
- Git source control system
- Understand basic TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting
- Have experience with job scheduling systems (PBS) in a parallel computing environment
- Does not have to have actual on the job exp personal experience works as well.
Job duties include: - Responding to user escalations for system support
- Basic debugging of server and client systems
- Assemble/upgrade computer systems
- Update firmware on various components of the development systems
- Update system configurations in software control system
- Writing scripts to automate routine tasks
- Create or update technical support documentation
- Other lab duties as assigned
