Job Description:
- The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates reviewing project plans analyzing data and collaborating with project managers and clients to finalize proposals.
- The role requires strong analytical communication and project management skills along with proven experience in construction estimation.
- Prepare detailed accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for new projects including materials labor equipment and subcontractor costs.
- Thoroughly review and interpret blueprints technical drawings specifications and project plans to understand the full scope of work and identify all cost-related factors.
- Perform precise quantity take-offs to determine the exact amount of materials and labor required for a project.
- Assist in the preparation of competitive bids and proposals ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted by the deadline.
- Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing for materials and services.
- Identify and assess potential risks and contingencies that could impact project costs and timelines and factor these into the final estimate.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with project managers architects engineers clients and other team members to clarify project requirements and present findings.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of historical cost data supplier information and market trends to inform future estimates.
