Role: AWS DevOps Engineer
Location: Brampton ON

Mode: Contract

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and working knowledge of Azure to lead cloud engineering initiatives and drive automation across cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing implementing and managing scalable secure and resilient cloud environments with a passion for automation and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture & Engineering:
  • Design and implement scalable secure and highly available cloud solutions primarily on AWS and secondarily on Azure.
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization projects ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
• Automation & DevOps:
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform CloudFormation and ARM templates.
  • Automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Implement configuration management using Ansible Chef or Puppet.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure cloud environments adhere to security best practices and compliance standards (e.g. ISO SOC2 HIPAA).
  • Implement identity and access management (IAM) encryption and monitoring solutions.
• Monitoring & Optimization:
  • Set up cloud monitoring logging and alerting using tools like CloudWatch Azure Monitor Datadog or Prometheus.
  • Optimize cloud resource usage and cost through performance tuning and rightsizing.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers architects and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cloud engineering best practices and documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Cloud Expertise:
  • 8 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2 S3 Lambda RDS VPC IAM etc.)
  • 3 years of experience with Azure services (VMs Azure Functions Storage Networking etc.)
• Automation & DevOps:
  • Strong experience with Terraform CloudFormation and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python Bash PowerShell).
• Security & Networking:
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles VPNs firewalls and load balancers.
• Certifications (Preferred):
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar
