Job Title: Performance Engineer
Location: Toronto Canada (Hybrid 3 days a week)
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $30-35/hr on W2
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end performance engineering activities including requirement gathering planning scripting execution analysis troubleshooting tuning and reporting.
- Evaluate and improve application performance across various environments.
Core Performance Testing & Engineering Skills (Primary Must Have)
- JMeter: Proficient in developing and executing performance testing scripts/scenarios; skilled in advanced scripting techniques.
- Dynatrace: Strong expertise in deep-dive performance monitoring and analysis to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Performance Testing: Skilled in workload modeling simulating production-like scenarios executing large-scale tests and analyzing results to ensure stability scalability and reliability.
- Non-Functional Requirements & Architecture: Solid understanding of NFRs system architecture and technology stacks for comprehensive performance coverage.
Advanced Troubleshooting & Optimization (Secondary Good to Have)
- Splunk Log Analysis & Datadog: Skilled in log-based diagnostics and observability.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Ability to fine-tune application database and infrastructure for optimal performance.
- SRE Skillsets: Exposure to chaos engineering observability production monitoring and SRE practices.
- Test Data & Virtualization: Experience defining test data strategy collaborating with TDM teams and creating virtual services (e.g. Mountebank).
- Client-Side & End-User Experience: Knowledge of tools to measure and enhance end-user performance experience.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with developers architects operations and business stakeholders to analyze results and drive optimizations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills with a focus on delivering measurable performance gains.
