Job Description

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Associate 1 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we Safely make a Quality product and minimize waste/ cost so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:

 

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Operate hand tools as required and assemble lift pick and pack products
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
  • Follow defined clean-up times.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.      
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for Customers
  • Identify problems; communicate issues.
  • Assist with training co-workers.
  • Support a respectful workplace.
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management

 

WHAT YOULL NEED

  • Ability to read tape measures as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity basic operations and knowing when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
  • Variations having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
  • Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referring Standard work instructions
  • Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
  • Quality Recognition In station quality requirements/CTQ
  • Communicate Effectively by actively Listening Explain Clearly & Accurately Ask Questions Share Important Info.
  • Time Management and awareness of Cycle Times
  • Ability to wear required PPE metatarsal shoes arm guards ear protection and safety glasses
  • Dependability/punctuality & Detail Oriented.
  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Ability to bend squat twist push/pull reach and stand is required
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds 8 to 12 hours a day is required
  • Ability to work in a hot & cold environment is required
  • Being able to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs is required
  • Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross-trained) is required
  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures including all safety regulations are required
  • Ability to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given is required
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving teamwork communication and initiative.
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
