Job Summary

Join a high-performing field services team in Charlotte as an Associate Principal specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT). This leadership role involves overseeing complex CMT projects from proposal to final report mentoring junior staff and directly interfacing with clients to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with extensive experience in CMT a strong understanding of ASTM testing protocols and proven leadership in technical review staff mentoring and client consulting. You thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and are driven by quality client service and professional growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of CMT projects including proposals field and lab testing technical review and final reporting.

  • Review and approve technical reports in compliance with ASTM standards.

  • Mentor and guide junior staff fostering technical skill development and professional growth.

  • Interface directly with clients to ensure project goals timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Provide technical oversight and decision-making to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

  • Lead efforts in staff development team coordination and client consulting.



Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in CMT including:

    • Technical report review and approval

    • Laboratory and field testing following ASTM standards and protocols

  • Prior senior reviewer designation (current or past role) preferred.

  • Valid driver s license and vehicle insurance.

  • Strong leadership communication and client-facing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability for technical oversight decision-making and problem-solving.
