We are seeking a skilled Custom Finish Carpenter to join our team and bring unique designs to life through expert woodworking.
Position Overview
The Custom Finish Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating assembling and installing millwork and wood products according to project specifications. This role requires strong woodworking skills attention to detail and the ability to work with custom designs unique finishes and challenging architectural requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints shop drawings and project specifications to plan and execute custom builds.
- Fabricate cut assemble and finish millwork products including cabinetry furniture molding and architectural woodwork.
- Operate woodworking tools and equipment such as saws planers routers and hand tools.
- Ensure precision in measurements joinery and assembly to meet design intent and quality standards.
- Collaborate with designers engineers and other shop staff to solve design and fabrication challenges.
- Perform on-site installation of custom millwork as needed.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy quality and craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in carpentry or woodworking preferred.
- 3 years of experience in carpentry woodworking or millwork fabrication.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical plans.
- Skilled in woodworking techniques joinery and finishing methods.
- Familiarity with a wide range of tools machinery and materials used in millwork.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality custom pieces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Custom laminate counter tops
- Custom plastic laminate items
- Competent use of production tools & machinery
- Closely supervised helping senior production team members

Finish Carpenter Level 2
All skills in Level 1 plus:
- Custom desks (reception desks nurse stations)
- Custom benches banquettes etc.
- Face frames
- Other moderately complex custom woodworking products
- Work productivity is average
- Work quality is average
- Collaborates with other departments within the company
Finish Carpenter 3
All skills in Level 2 plus:
- Advance knowledge of finish carpentry and custom woodwork assembly
- Other complex custom woodworking products
- High level of competency for custom work
- Requires some supervision
- Work productivity is above average
- Work quality is above average
- Individual is reliable and without attendance issues
Mentors lower level production team members
Finish Carpenter 4
All skills in Level 3 plus:
- Expert knowledge of finish carpentry and custom woodwork assembly
- Completes complex custom woodworking projects
- Requires minimal supervision
- Work productivity is excellent
- Work quality exceeds expectations
- Individual is reliable and without attendance issues
Finish Carpenter Level 5
All skills in Level 4 plus:
- Work productivity is superb
- Work quality is at the level of master craftsmanship
- Effectively leads junior team members
- Ensures efficient production of custom products
- Serves as subject matter expert to other departments for customs planning
Requirements

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in woodworking or finishing preferred. 2+ years of experience as a wood finisher, preferably in millwork, cabinetry, or furniture. Knowledge of wood species, stains, paints, sealers, and finishing techniques. Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and color samples. Experience with spray finishing equipment and proper material handling. Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and quality control. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment. Skills & Competencies Precision, patience, and strong visual judgment for color and texture.
