This is a maternity cover position starting the 3rd of November 2025 to the 3rd of November 2026. Working Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00.
The purpose of the role is for the Team accountability for production HR safety customers quality finance and information systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Delivering customer satisfaction by listening to and exceeding customer expectations to deliver a TAT target of at least 93%
- Completing investigations for non-conforming work

- Holiday authorisation is well planned and in accordance with operational requirements
- Monitor departmental KPIs daily and take action to address any issues
- Responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained and operational to meet business requirements
- Ensure the most efficient throughput and use of scientific laboratory by ensuring all samples requiring subcontract analysis are dispatched within a 24-hour period of registration
- Assisting in reducing overdue customer sample rate <15 days.
- Identifying incorrect testing selected at the customer level for Interco analysis and working to correct these at the quotation level.
- Identifying samples not reported at the customer level and following up when reported back to UK.
- Building sample specification records to prevent delays in analysis at Interco laboratories.
- Investigating daily TAT misses and providing data to department leadership on daily basis.
- Adjusting Interco replated TAT dates in accordance to agreed Sample Management rules.
- Assisting to prevent delays with manually entered results and identifying correct TAT requirements.
- Creating and updating daily priority tracker for Interco samples.
- Overseeing rush Interco analysis from customer to reporting
- To communicate delays in analysis to customers at the required service level (Tier A & B) specifically for samples sent to partner laboratories within Europe and the rest of the world.
- To ensure that the customer is seamlessly transferred to the appropriate person within the business to be able to answer their query where response at first point of contact is not possible. This may include account managers ASMs laboratory management technical management or senior management as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients and working to establish a positive rapport with every caller.
- Provide accurate valid and complete information by using the right methods and tools.
- Delivering customer satisfaction by listening to and exceeding customer expectations.
- Perform direct client communication for additional sample analysis requirements including any queries during the registration process through email or telephone in a professional manner.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients and working to establish a positive rapport with every caller.
- Registration preparation and analysis of samples as required.
- Assisting the laboratory to maintain a turnaround time at >93% ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
- Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
- Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
- To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
Qualifications :
- Basic understanding of Interco process and requirements
- Good laboratory skills and practices including experience with LIMs application.
- Enthusiasm energy and a driven outlook
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. At least one years experience handling customer queries and building relations
- Maths English Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
