Your work environment at EXP

In this role you will be a part of ourTransportation team based inFredericton NB and have the opportunity to work on thedesign planning assessment evaluation and rehabilitation of various roadway structures such as bridges culverts retaining walls and more.


What a day at EXP has in store for you:

  • Participate and lead condition assessments of existing roadway structures (bridges culverts etc).
  • Participate and lead the planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures.
  • Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes for the design evaluation and rehabilitation of roadway structures.
  • Leverage a range of general and specialty computer software to aid in structural analysis design evaluation and planning.
  • Work with drafting team members to prepare drawings and details for the construction and rehabilitation of various structures.
  • Perform material quantity take-offs.
  • Perform construction and life cycle cost estimates.
  • Assist in preparation of construction specifications.
  • Organize design calculations and design briefs; and assist with project construction administration including reviews of shop drawings and requests for information.


What your experience looks like:

  • Bachelors of Civil Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in at least one Canadian Province or Territory with intention of registration in New Brunswick and surrounding professional associations.
  • Bridge Inspection experience following OSIM or similar.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as Staad Altair Suite Structure Point Suite.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
