Ross University School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty post to cross teach in two of the disciplines taught within the Department of Medical Foundations namely Pharmacology. A preference will be given to candidates who can cross teach across disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective lectures and facilitate active learning sessions incorporating modern teaching tools and technology.
- Prepare course materials including handouts practice questions and digital content (e.g. videos digital workbooks).
- Engage with students through various formats including one-on-one interactions small group learning and academic advising.
- Develop administer and evaluate assessments including writing and reviewing NBME-style questions.
- Participate in curriculum review development and improvement initiatives within the department and across disciplines.
- Contribute to ongoing faculty development in medical education and serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
- Demonstrate proficiency in educational technology including e-learning management systems audience response systems and online examinations.
- Comply with all policies and standards and perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Campus Dean.
Qualifications :
- PhD M.D. Required or other relevant terminal degree
- 3-5 years of relevant experience teaching pharmacology to medical students
- Strong teaching skills and experience or evidence of potential Required
- Interest in medical education
- Desire for self-improvement
- Flexibility and ability to work well on a team
- Preference will be given to an applicant with proven teaching skills within the areas covered by the department
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to reside in Barbados
