Job Summary

Key duties and responsibilities
To undertake a variety of Grounds Maintenance tasks within Brentwood Borough Councils housing sites parks and green spaces; including grass cutting hedge cutting and litter picking.
To provide cover for sickness and absence within Brentwood Borough Councils Grounds Maintenance and Cemeteries teams covering highways and cemeteries; including grass cutting hedge cutting sports pitch maintenance litter picking cemeteries maintenance.
To work as part of a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives within an area specified by the Deputy Operations Manager. The post holder could be based at various sites throughout the Borough to and will assist in the maintenance and cleansing of a wide range of the Councils public places and open spaces. The successful candidate will work on a set time basis covering Monday to Friday undertaking tasks of a similar nature to those duties as described elsewhere in the is job description profile.
Key skills required
- Full UK driving licence.
- High level of flexibility positive can-do attitude.
- Working knowledge of sophisticated mowing equipment and handheld equipment such as strimmers hedge cutters and other horticultural equipment.
- Experience in grounds maintenance works such as pruning weeding planting and planting.
- Training in the use of ride on mowers desirable.
