Job Summary
The Accounting and Payroll Specialist will support the Finance and Accounting team by assisting with payroll processing general ledger maintenance and basic accounting functions across multiple entities. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with analytical skills who are eager to grow in the accounting and finance roles in a dynamic resort environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented collaborative and capable of managing multiple tasks with accuracy and confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting Functions
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks for multiple Limited Liability Company entities across the operational aspects of the resort including A/P and A/R.
- Assist with month-end close procedures and preparation of financial statements (Income Statement Balance Sheet Cash Flow).
- Support intercompany transactions audits and reconciliations.
- Help maintain budgets and perform variance analysis.
- Participate in financial reporting and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and treasury-related tasks such as ACH/wire setups.
- Work with the management team to identify and analyze key operating metrics.
- Evaluate capital improvements and various projects proposed by department heads.
- Lead and support ad hoc projects as required.
Payroll Functions
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time including manual checks voids and adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records ensure compliance with internal controls and employment tax laws.
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Assist with payroll journal entries and general ledger mapping between accounting and HR/payroll systems.
- Support system testing upgrades and implementations related to payroll platforms (e.g. Paycom Workday).
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Run and review audit reports to ensure accuracy of payroll data.
- Complete data input for manual checks voids stop pays direct deposit reversals and payroll adjustments.
- Assist Treasury with bank reconciliations and wire/ACH setups related to third-party processors for employee benefit vendors.

- 23 years of experience in project management payroll and/or accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Business Central 365 QuickBooks Sage).

- Well organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
