Position Summary:The overall purpose of this job is to effectively plan organize and manage the College desktop information technologies; this position is responsible for tasking and supervising a staff of computer technicians who provide direct desktop support at all five College sites.
Essential Functions:
25% Supervise and motivate a staff of computer technicians scheduling staff work hours and tasks; work with staff to resolve hardware and software issues in academic labs and administrative areas.
20% Financial manager for tech support budget. Authorizing agent for $600K annual spending in support of all classroom technology needs at PSCC campuses.
15% Inventory owner for all college classroom assets. Ensures accountability for over 5K items spanning each PSCC campus.
10% Plan and maintain the College computer replacement plan for offices and student areas; plan the PC resources required for the Technology Access Fee budget; develop procedures to ensure quality performance of all hardware and software.
10% Manage installation requirements for specific PC images and server applications including virtualized desktops. Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for all related inventory hardware and software.
10% Provide technical assistance to any department as needed; work with other technical department staff to ensure desktop services and related network services are responsive and appropriately configured for academic and administrative applications.
5% Oversee and manage lab and office hardware security; develop processes to ensure integrity of lab desktop software and physical security of hardware.
5% Work with Chief Information Officer (CIO) and others in the college of special projects as needed.

Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years full time relevant IT experience and some leadership experience required with Bachelors degree.
OR an Associates Degree with an emphasis information technology and 7 years demonstrated relevant IT experience and some leadership experience.
(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
Skills/Abilities: Organizational skills; solid communication skills and supervisory skills; ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships within the group and across the institution is required. Ability to engage in the colleges mission and values.
Physical Demands:Employee supervises major computer replacements (entire labs) and often lifts up to 30 pounds; there is substantial walking around all areas of all campuses to review staff work progress.
Hazards: Daily use of computer equipment could cause eye strain and/or carpal tunnel issues. Lifting of heavy equipment w/ possibility of dropping on hand or foot. Possibility of contagious illnesses due to constant use of users keyboards and mice.
