The Iowa State University Office of Fringe Benefit Accounting and Compliance (FBAC) is seeking candidates for an Accountant I position. We are seeking an energetic and motivated professional who is interested in fringe benefits and benefits compliance. The FBAC area is responsible for numerous aspects of University Benefits. Those areas include initiating premium payments to the various third-party administrators and insurance carriers whom the University has contracted and ensuring program compliance with IRS regulations University policies and procedures and State and Federal Laws and Regulations.
We are looking for an organized entry-level accountant to be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of a variety of financial records including the timely processing of premium and invoice payments and receipt of funds. This position will assist with reconciling accounts and the development of monthly quarterly and annual reports related to the administration of ISUs numerous fringe benefit programs. Fringe benefit programs include Medical Dental Pharmacy Retirement and more.
The successful candidate will possess strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills strong attention to detail and be able to apply intermediate accounting skills while working with a variety of different benefit programs. Must have strong critical thinking skills and be a team player willing to assist other team members and take on additional tasks in order to meet deadlines. While there may be a potential for a hybrid work agreement there is an on-campus component to this position to help assist employees and students with their benefit deduction-related questions.
Position Duties:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
