Software Engineer II - Back-End

The Experimentation team at SIE is responsible for building and scaling the experimentation technology culture and process across all teams. Our mission is to accelerate data-driven decision making that helps PlayStation deeply understand our users drive business impact and improve the PlayStation experience.

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer II Back-End to join our Experimentation this role you will focus on building and evolving back-end services and APIs that power experimentation capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design build and maintain scalable back-end services that support experimentation workflows.

  • Develop and optimize APIs to integrate experimentation into PlayStations products and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product data science design quality) to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.

  • Write clean maintainable and testable code while contributing to code reviews and knowledge sharing.

  • Support the evolution of our back-end architecture to improve reliability scalability and performance.

Required Experience

  • 2 years of professional work experience in back-end or server-side software development.

  • Proficiency in Java

  • Experience with database technologies (SQL or NoSQL).

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and distributed systems concepts.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large-scale experimentation or A/B testing platforms.

  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g. AWS) and containerization (Kubernetes Docker).

  • Exposure to streaming or messaging systems (e.g. Kafka Kinesis).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and monitoring/observability tools.

At SIE we consider several factors when setting each roles base pay range including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location.

In addition this role
