Job Summary
A Registered Nurse (RN) who specializes in wound ostomy and continence (WOC) management provides expert evidence-based patient care both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role includes assessment planning and management of patients with skin-related issues including wounds ostomies and continence concerns. The WOCN is responsible for overseeing the wound care program ensuring adherence to clinical best practices regulatory standards and quality improvement initiatives. Serving as a subject matter expert the WOCN works in collaboration with nursing staff-providing guidance support and education to enhance clinical practice within the specialty.
