The Member Service Staff is responsible for welcoming members and guests into the facility for answering and transferring calls inputting information into the computer and for communicating policy and program information to visitors at the addition every position in the Montgomery YMCA is responsible for upholding the Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring honesty respect and responsibility. This job listing is for Monday Thursday and Fridays 3:00pm-8:00pm. ( 7:00pm Fridays) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Greet members (by name) and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the YMCA; ensures the security of the facility enforcing policy regarding visitors
- Handle and solve member concerns
- Answer the telephone in a prompt courteous manner three ring rule applies
- No one left on hold for more than 30 seconds without personal contact
- Provide all needed information on phone messages taken and give correct information to callers
- Member sign-up and program registration all done correctly and in a timely manner
- Enter receipt information correctly for membership and programs
- Be accountable for all money collected during your shift. Money and receipt total should match
- Perform routine filing and copying as needed
- Perform facility access control duties by scanning members cards and entering visitors in the computer program.
- Maintain clean and professional appearance for self and facility. Wear staff shirt. Wear nametag. (shorts and skirts of moderate length no blue jeans)
- Understand and be able to apply emergency procedures
- Open and/or secure building at the close of business as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be multi-task oriented. Basic use and knowledge of computers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
